Emergency services descended on a Coventry school after its science block was cordoned off amidst a flurry of activity. Foxford School became the centre of attention with multiple fire engines, police cars, and ambulances spotted at the scene earlier today (June 25).

Social media was abuzz with chatter from students who noticed emergency responders 'everywhere' and reported that the science block had become inaccessible. Two students, a boy and a girl, were subsequently taken to hospital.

CoventryLive obtained a message sent by the school to parents and guardians, which revealed that the police intervention was due to the use of 'unknown' vapes on the premises.

The school's communication read: "Due to some students bringing in vapes and the source is not known, the police have attended to test these vapes."

It continued to stress the prohibition of vapes on school grounds and the importance of student safety: "As you are aware, vapes are not allowed on school site and student safety is paramount.", reports Coventry Live.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed their involvement, stating they responded to two calls regarding the incident at the Grange Road-based institution. "We received two separate calls to Foxford School and Community Arts College on Grange Road at 11.47am and 12.25pm, two ambulances attended the scene."

They added: "We treated two patients, a male and female teenager, before they were both taken to hospital for further assessment."

Adding to the reports, a West Midlands Police spokesperson acknowledged their response to a medical incident on Grange Road, Coventry at 12pm, resulting in the arrest of a 15-year-old boy.

CoventryLive reached out to both West Midlands Fire Service and Foxford School for further comments.
