Schools in Makariv Found Damaged After Russian Retreat, Says Mayor

Schools were among civilian buildings damaged by Russian attacks in the Ukrainian town of Makariv, located in the Kyiv Oblast, following the withdrawal of Russian forces from the area, footage on April 6 showed.

Mayor of Makariv Vadym Tokar released footage on Wednesday showing severe damage to two schools, identified as a kindergarten and high school, respectively, and debris littering the surrounding area.

On Friday, Tokar told local media that more than 40 percent of the town was destroyed by shelling, amid reports that 132 dead bodies were discovered in the town by Thursday. Credit: Vadym Tokar via Storyful
