Scotland fans who have travelled to Germany ahead of the Euro 2024 opener on Friday have been given an urgent warning from the Munich authorities.

A surplus of supporters have gathered in Munich's main square Marienplatz ahead of the tournament, however, they've now been advised by the local authority that the square is overcrowded.

Taking to X, the Munich authorities penned: "URGENT!!! The #Marienplatz is overcrowded. There will definitely be no public viewing there. Please spread out elsewhere in the city! The fan zone is also about to close. Please don't go to the Olympiapark anymore!"

Elsewhere in the city, Scots have gathered in the Olympiapark fan zone, with one onlooker claiming Scots were queuing from 11am this morning.

But again Munich authorities also warned supporters the fan zone will also close soon, urging supporters to find somewhere else to enjoy the highly-anticipated game.

We reported earlier that thousands of ticketless Scots arrived at Olympic Park to ensure they got a seat on the grassy hill around the huge screen at the park.

There were long queues for lager and bratwurst while several different stalls had been set up providing entertainment for children.

Flags have been placed around the arena which is full of buzzing Tartan Army, with a band blasting out some euro pop beats.

In between songs were cries of 'no Scotland, no party' and "we'll be coming down the road".

Some are camped out here for the night while others with tickets are just soaking up the atmosphere before heading to the Allianz Arena.
