A fuming Aldi shopper has slammed a BMW driver for parking on the pavement outside the store despite there being parking bays available.

The sports car was snapped having parked on the pavement directly opposite the retail giants store, at Westway Retail Park in Cumbernauld, just before 7.30pm on Saturday, June 1, leaving fellow shoppers raging.

One told Glasgow Live that the "entitled" driver of the BMW wanted their plush car to 'get noticed'.

He said: "I was in disbelief that someone could be that lazy to not park in an allocated space just metres away and also be that entitled to think they are allowed to park on the pavement.

"I took into consideration that it was close to the shops closing time, the car park was quiet and bit a lot of people walking about however, that doesn’t change the laws of the road.

"I think it was more of a “look at my car” move than anything else. It is a nice car, yes, but you don’t have to drive it like an idiot just to get noticed."
