Glasgow City Centre came to a standstill as a man's body was taken to his funeral service at a Sikh place of worship on the back of a pick up truck.

The funeral of Gourdev (Debs) Singh Rathore took place at the city's Glasgow Gurdwara Guru Granth Sahib in Albert Drive today, Monday, May 6, and then the body was transported in the vehicle to Marshall Crematorium.

The recovery truck belonged to James Espey, a close pal of garage owner, Gourdev.

The Glasgow Gurdwara was packed out with mourners and family members gathered round the wagon in prayer before it carried off Gourdev to the crematorium.
