Scots motorcyclist dies after horror three-vehicle smash on busy road

A man has died following a horror crash involving two motorbikes and a car on a busy Scots road.

The three-vehicle smash happened at around 5:30pm on the A85 near Glenogle on Sunday, May 5, involving a Triumph Tiger, a Suzuki GSXR and a Toyota Yaris were involved in a collision.

Sadly, the 50-year-old male rider of the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene. The 54-year-old male rider of the Triumph was rushed by an air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital and staff describe his condition as critical.

The male driver of the Toyota Yaris and his female passenger did not require anyway medical treatment.

The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out but fully reopened around 3.40am today, Monday, May 6.

Cops say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are appealing for information.

Road Policing Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“As our enquiries continue, I’d appeal to anyone with information to come forward. I’d be particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the area around the time.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2678 of 5 May.."
