A budding Scots singer joined Shania Twain on stage at Stirling's Summer Sessions yesterday evening as the pair wowed crowds with their harmony during one of the country star's hit records.

Paul Clark, from Lanarkshire, was handpicked by the musical legend to be her backing singer on her world tour, which came to Glasgow's OVO Hydro last September, after he first caught her eye on the TV show Starstruck.

Last night, the young star from Salsburgh reunited with Shania on stage once again as the queen of country played her outdoor gig to crowds of over 20,000 at Stirling City Park, located on the foot of the iconic Stirling Castle.

Fans were blown away by Paul's performance with the 58-year-old as they harmonised together to sing an acoustic version of the singer's 1997 track From This Moment On.

The country singer also gave her best Scots impersonation on stage as she introduced Paul Clark to the crowds as she added, 'who by the way is Scottish' in an attempted accent.

One fan took to X to share footage of the special moment as he wrote: "@ShaniaTwain and Paul harmonising from this moment on. What the hell, the mic was ON and she was showing us why she is the queen of country."

Paul also joined Shania on the iconic pyramid stage at Glastonbury last weekend which took an unfortunate turn after the country hitmaker suffered with audio issues during her set, with viewers dubbing her performance as 'terrible'.

However, this didn't seem to phase the Lanarkshire musician as he took to Instagram after the festival to gush over the moment where he fulfilled his "life long dream."

He wrote: "WHAT A FEELING! I'm so buzzing that I got to perform at Glastonbury with @shaniatwain, life long dream of gracing that stage and it's ticked off the bucket list! The full band did incredible today and I'm so so proud of everyone and what we accomplished today as a team."

Paul previously completed a HND music course at New College Lanarkshire (NCL) in 2022 and went on to feature on the show Starstruck, which was where he first caught the eyes and ears of Shania Twain, who was a judge on the show.

A few months later, the Scots singer uploaded a cover of the track Waking up Dreaming from Shania's new album to YouTube.

After seeing the clip, Shania immediately reached out to Paul and he was asked to come along and audition for her tour.

Paul previously told Lanarkshire Live: “After I auditioned I was fortunate enough to be offered the job on the spot.

"Before I knew it I was on a plane in March, flying to Las Vegas for rehearsals and started touring in April.

"The experience has been incredible. Shania is a total legend, musically and as a person. To be singing with her in sold-out arenas around the world is something I can’t put into words.”
