Cops have locked down a Scots street with forensic crews on the scene as they conduct searches.

Officers and several police vehicles have swarmed on Market Street at Viewpark in Uddingston, North Lanarkshire. It is understood the forensics are near a row of shops.

Pictures from the street show one police van reversed down towards the back entrance to the row of shop. Another image shows an officer standing guard next to a police van.

An eyewitness told the Record: "There is police all around the back of the shops which all have their main entrances into Market Square.

"There's forensic teams there as well, there seems to be a lot of activity."
