The end of the UEFA European Football Championship 2024 is fast approaching, with the last few clashes set to grace our screens in the coming days

Tonight (Tuesday, July 9th), Spain and France go head-to-head for a coveted spot in the grand finale. Tomorrow evening (Wednesday, July 10) will see the Three Lions square off against the Netherlands.

But despite a shared border and deep-rooted history, Scotland and England's footballing rivalry remains as fierce as ever since the Scottish team exited during the qualifying rounds. An avid football fan took to X, previously known as Twitter, amusingly sharing a neighbour's daily acts of quiet defiance – supporting whichever nation England was set to play against.

Posting pictures of an evolving array of national flags proudly displayed outside their home before each match-up, they captioned the series: "Our flag journey so far," accompanied by a colourful flag emoji for each nation.

Fellow users hailed this silent demonstration, flocking to extol the unnamed residents' efforts. One enthusiast remarked: "This house is in danger of becoming Scotland's biggest tourist attraction." Another admirer noted: "I respect that level of commitment to hatering." While a third user chimed in with: "That's a level of petty we should all aspire to."

One spectator commented, "Netherlands should take care of them for good." But others insist that their support actually aids the English. An X user tweeted, "Hope they keep it up, it's a good luck charm now."

Not only the Scots are eager to wrap up Euro 2024 and enjoy the rest of the summer. Even Love Island alum Dani Dyer confessed to being 'exhausted' from the tournament and is 'ready' to have her footballer boyfriend, Jarrod Bowen, back home.

The star took her kids along to watch Jarrod's recent matches, and although she admits 'travelling with little ones' is challenging, it was 'worth it'. She conducted a QandA session on her Instagram Story with her fanbase of 3.7 million this Monday.

Dani, 27, first became a mother to Santiago with ex Sammy Kimmence in January 2021. She and West Ham United player Jarrod, also 27, welcomed the arrival of their identical twin daughters, Summer and Star, in May 2023.
