Police are continuing in their search for a missing man who was last seen 11 days ago. Matheu Hopwood was reported missing on May 17 - but was last seen on May 9 along Helsby Street in Warrington.

Since his disappearance, Cheshire Police believe the 34-year-old may have travelled to the Brighouse area of West Yorkshire. He is known to frequent the Latchford area of Warrington.

He is described as white, around 6' tall, of proportionate build, with short curly brown hair and blue eyes. Officers are urging anyone who sees Matheu or has any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Kersten Southcott said: “We have been conducting a number of enquiries to trace Matheu and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“I would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen Matheu since he was last spotted to get in touch with us. The same goes for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, or CCTV or dashcam footage of him.

“I would also like to appeal directly to Matheu; please let us know you are okay.”
