You season 4 star Charlotte Ritchie responds to Kate's divisive finale decision
You season 4 part 2 spoilers ahead.
Netflix's You shocked us all this week by having Kate forgive Joe for all of his bloodstained secrets.
In the fourth season finale, Penn Badgley's character leapt off a bridge before waking up in a hospital bed shortly after. Here, Kate (played by Ghosts star Charlotte Ritchie) informed Joe that her uber-rich father had passed away while Rhys's corpse suspiciously harboured Joe's DNA.
Busted but not punished, Joe was let off the hook. Instead of grassing him in, Kate had the evidence wiped in order for the pair to be together.

In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Ritchie had this to say about the twist: "In a sort of other realm you sort of feel it's really amazing that they get to be really honest with each other. There's obviously nothing sort of more loving, I suppose, than really being able to share and connect and be equals... They do that together, I think.
"But on another level, that's really I guess where I found it hard with Kate... She's enabling him to slip through the net again.
"And not only that but she's sort of been like, 'Let's go, I'm really okay with this...'"

Ritchie continued: "I don't have a judgement on it, it's not really for me to decide. It's just what happens... and it aligns with her.
"I think the truth is, I think she thinks that if he can be okay then she can be okay. So I think if she forgives him, it means that she has the potential for being forgiven. It's like she's saving herself, while she saves him.
"I think that's a big part of what it is between them, to be honest. They're both seeing their redemption in each other."
