Security Footage Shows Moment Man Cruised Into Newcastle Store on Moped

A man who drove his moped through a busy pedestrian area in Newcastle, England, before scooting inside a store has been jailed and is banned from driving, police said on Thursday, May 16.

Security footage released by the Northumbria Police shows the moment the 21-year-old man took a brief spin on his moped around the front of a store in Newcastle on March 21. Police said that the man also kicked an officer in the face after he was arrested.

The man pleaded guilty to “dangerous driving, threatening behavior, having no insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a license and assaulting an emergency worker” and was sentenced to 11 months in jail, police said. Credit: Northumbria Police via Storyful
