Security Forces Use Tear Gas Amid Protests Over Deteriorating Living Conditions

Tear gas was fired by security forces as protesters, mainly retired soldiers, attempted to move toward the government palace in Beirut on Wednesday, March 22, according to the Lebanese newspaper An Nahar.

Footage posted to Twitter by journalist Nada Maucourant Atallah shows tear gas floating above the crowd.
