Usher turns heads in his casually cool look while Taraji P. Henson goes for the gold

The 2024 BET Awards are celebrating Black excellence!

Before the night kicked off at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles with live performances, tributes and trophies galore, the hottest in the biz hit the carpet to shine in their designs.

While Usher kept it semi-casual in a suit jacket and jeans, Taraji P. Henson glowed in gold, and sisters Chlöe and Halle Bailey rocked two takes on the halter gown.

Taraji P. Henson

2024 BET Awards host Taraji P. Henson came through dripping in a floor-skimming gold gown embellished with chains (which matched her necklace) and tassels, and a coordinating gilded manicure.

Usher

The event's Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Usher (who's also up for four awards) brought his fashion A-game to the ceremony in a cream suit jacket, white button down and denim and a vintage 18K yellow gold Piaget watch sourced by Analog:Shift — plus his signature shades.

Ice Spice

Nominee and performer Ice Spice was iced out in a major necklace that took her flow-y, high-low tangerine gown and matching sandals to the next level.

Niecy Nash-Betts

Niecy Nash-Betts was feeling blue by the looks of her ensemble, a strapless, curve-hugging dress with a keyhole neckline plus a clutch, Opera gloves and sunglasses in the same vivid hue.

Colman Domingo

Presenter Colman Domingo brought his dapper fashion sense to the carpet in a high-shine tuxedo jacket and pants by Ferrari Style. He also chose to forego a shirt (it was 82 degrees after all) and topped off his look with a diamond lariat necklace.

Tyla

Nominee and performer Tyla brought her show-stopping style to the carpet in a studded dress with a thigh-high slit and $230,000 worth of Jared Atelier natural diamonds including earrings, two rings and two tennis bracelets.

Coco Jones

Coco Jones showed some skin in a semi-sheer, crystal-encrusted dress that bared her abs.

Halle Bailey

Nominee Halle Bailey hit the carpet in a sexy backless halterneck liquid gown with a dramatic train and statement earrings.

Victoria Monét

Nomine and performer Victoria Monét brought the drama in a blue bustier dress, pointy boots and some bold gems around her neck.

Chlöe Bailey

Performer Chlöe Bailey shined in a sequin gown with a chest cutout and eye-catching earrings.

Andra Day

Presenter Andra Day sparkled in head-to-toe silver including a sheer caged gown and contrasting red nails.

Jay Ellis

Jay Ellis topped off a classic button-down shirt and denim with a dinner jacket complete with pocket square and a David Yurman bracelet.
