BMW revealed a revised 3-series for 2025, though changes to the benchmark sedan are pretty minor. The big changes affect the potent turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, which adds four horsepower and 29 pound-feet of torque from an updated 48-volt hybrid system.
The biggest change for the 2025 3-series comes in the form of additional power from the M340i's inline-six.
Thanks to an updated version of the 48-volt hybrid system, the M340i now makes 386 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque.
Along with the extra power, the revised system generates "sharper power deliver and greater efficiency," according to BMW.
The less powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder equipped to the 330i continues unchanged, making 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
According to BMW, it put the new 3-series through "rigorous development work" to improve chassis dynamics.
New chassis mounts connecting the dampers to the body reportedly help to refine the ride quality.
Along with the improved ride, the steering effort in Comfort mode is now lighter.
The new 3-series also joins newer BMWs such as the electric i5 in using the brand's most recent iDrive 8.5 interface.
The new system features widgets and a redesigned home screen continuously displays the navigation system.
Pricing starts at $46,675 for the entry-level 330i and ranges up to $62,775 for the top-spec M340i xDrive.
