Seinfeld star Michael Richards to release memoir
Michael Richards is to release a memoir.
The 74-year-old actor is best known for his role as Cosmo Kramer on the classic comedy 'Seinfeld' and it has now been announced that he will tell the story of his life and career in Hollywood with a tome titled 'Entrances and Exits'.
Anthony Ziccardi, Publisher of Permuted Press, said in a statement shared with People: "I am thrilled to present to the world Entrances and Exits, the long-awaited memoir by Michael Richards, whose side-splitting antics as Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld have entertained generations of viewers and left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape."
According to the outlet, the stand-up star will share never-before-told stories from his life and discuss his childhood being brought up by his schizophrenic grandmother, as well as delve into the early days of his career when he performed alongside fellow comedians Jay Leno and Robbie Williams.
Ziccardi added: "This book captures all the wit, irreverence, and outrageousness of the beloved Kramer character, while also parting the curtain of Michael’s private life to reveal the background and experiences that helped shape his destiny and eventually catapult him to the top of his profession and ‘must-see-TV’ immortality."
The Emmy Award-winning actor - who has 48-year-old daughter Sophia with ex-wife Cathleen Lyons but has been married to actress Beth Skipp since 2010 - promised that the upcoming autobiography will serve as a "hymn" to the "absurd difficulties" that seem to plague everyone universally.
In the opening pages of the memoir, he writes: "My book is a hymn to the irrational, the senseless spirit that breaks the whole into pieces, a reflection on the seemingly absurd difficulties that intrude upon us all."
'Entrances and Exits' will be released in June 2024.
