A continuation of the Emmy-winning Wizards of Waverly Place (which ran for four seasons from October 2007 to January 2012), Wizards Beyond Waverly Place follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.

The photos provide a glimpse of Gomez (an executive producer on the offshoot) and fellow WoWP alum David Henrie reprising their roles as Alex and Justin Russo, and offer an introduction to series lead Billie, portrayed by Janice LeAnn Brown, and the Russo family: Mimi Gianopulos as Giada, Alkaio Thiele as Roman and Max Matenko as Milo.
It was also announced on Tuesday afternoon that newcomer Taylor Cora has joined the series’ cast in the role of Winter, Billie’s bubbly, quirky and oversharing best friend.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is slated to premiere later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+.
