Manchester United are being linked with several potential new signings ahead of the summer transfer window.

United are currently reeling from the 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night in the Premier League. The loss at Selhurst Park dealt a major blow to the Reds' chances of securing qualification for Europe with just three fixtures left to play.

Erik ten Hag's side will now prepare to face league leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford this weekend. United also have an FA Cup final against Manchester City to look forward to later this month at Wembley Stadium.

Off the pitch, rumours are already starting to swirl around the transfer business United may conduct when the window reopens. The latest pieces of speculation concern a defender and a striker.

Reports in Italy are claiming that United are showing an interest in Inter Milan defender Dezel Dumfries. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, contract negotiations between Inter and Dumfries have stalled, with his current deal set to expire in 2025.

As a result, it has been suggested that Dumfries could leave the Serie A title winners this summer. The report claims that the Netherlands international would be interested in a move to United, a deal which would be more likely to happen if Ten Hag remains in charge.

Elsewhere, United are continuing to be linked with a move for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

According to Corriere dello Sport, via FC Inter News, United are "pressing" to sign Zirkzee this summer. However, it has been claimed that the Reds will face competition for the striker's signature with Juventus and AC Milan also supposedly interested in getting a deal over the line.

Arsenal have also been previously linked with a move for Zirkzee, who left Bayern Munich to join Bologna in 2022. Reports in recent months have speculated that Zirkzee has a release clause worth €40 million (£34 million) in his contract, which can only be activated by his former club, Bayern.
