Seven arrests after man stabbed during 'altercation involving several men'

Seven people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in an altercation involving several men on a Sussex road.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the A24 in Findon, West Sussex, on Saturday evening, where they found a man had been stabbed and two other men had been assaulted.

All were taken to hospital for treatment, Sussex Police said.

The suspects had left the scene by the time emergency services had arrived but the force said seven arrests have since been made, involving fellow forces Thames Valley and Warwickshire Police.

Motorbikes were reportedly seen on the ground at the scene, with the road closed on Saturday night as police started investigations.

Sussex Police reportedly issued a statement saying they had received a report of an altercation involving several men on the A24 in Findon at about 7.30pm on Saturday, 8 October.

"Officers arrived at the scene to find a man with stab wounds. Two other men had also been assaulted. They were all taken to hospital for treatment," the statement said.

"Seven arrests have since been made, involving colleagues from both Thames Valley and Warwickshire police, after the suspects had left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services.

"The arrested men remain in custody and enquiries are continuing.”

The force has urged anyone who may have any relevant information, particularly dash cam footage, to report online, or call 101.
