Seven New Zealand rugby players needed to stop new Welsh rugby sensation

It took took seven New Zealanders to take down rising Wales star Morgan Morse in epic new footage.

The World Rugby under 20s Championships kicked off on Saturday, June 29, with nine matches taking place in South Africa. Wales were up against the Baby Blacks at Athlone Sports Stadium, Cape Town on match day one.

Morse, a hard-carrying Ospreys number eight, has been touted as a future superstar for some time now, and has duly stepped up to the plate on the world stage for the U20s.

Picking up the ball with one hand from the back of a scrum, Morse peeled off the right side and stepedd one player, before evading another tackler at full tilt.

Scrambling New Zealanders finally managed to get the big man down as he attempted to drive through a wall of white jerseys. It was the epitome of a barn-storming carry, and has certainly got Welsh rugby fans excited.

One viewer wrote: "Reminder.... that's against NZ . The boy is class"

"Hopefully he's able to stay injury free, very talented player, just hope he gets given the time to fully develop and is not rushed to the top.. He's another player doing Ystalyfera school proud," wrote another.

"Just Morgan Morse being Morgan Morse" wrote the Ospreys.

Another simply said: "He's an animal."

Wales would unfortunately go on to lose the game by just seven points in a 34-41 score line, but they'll have a chance to make up for that against Spain on Thursday, July 4.

19-year-old Morse was first selected to represent Wales U20 just a week after his 17th birthday, and has made 20 appearances for the age grade national team since then.

He only made his debut for the senior Ospreys team against Sharks of November last year, but set the league alight against Cardiff Rugby on New Year's Day at Brewery Field. The then 18-year-old bagged a sensational solo score in the Bridgend mud and rain, evading numerous would-be tacklers with smart stepping and admirable speed. You can read more about that here.
