Severe Storms Down Trees, Power Lines in Northern Alabama

High winds and heavy rain caused damage to trees and power lines across Morgan County, Alabama, on Friday, March 3, as severe storms swept over northern parts of the state, local officials said.

This footage from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office shows driving rain and near-zero visibility in downtown Decatur.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville said the storm was producing wind gusts of up to 70 mph.
