Backed up sewage in a popular Exeter Wetherspoons pub led to its immediate closure last night. It has been said sewage was seen in a 'customer area' however the affected area has not been clarified.

The Sawyers Arms in Cowick Street had to close up after waste backed up from a manhole. It comes as other areas of Devon reel over the effects of an unrelated Cryptosporidium outbreak.

The issue has however been dealt with quickly and the pub has since reopened. It means those who look forward to a Saturday lunchtime pint in The Sawyers Arms are able to do so.
