SGMC to host stroke seminar for community

May 2—VALDOSTA — SGMC Health will hold a stroke seminar 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Valdosta State University's University Center.

Stroke remains a significant health concern, and SGMC Health is committed to raising awareness and providing essential information to the community.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from specialists:

— Daryoosh Derakhshan, DO, interventional cardiology.

— Brian Dawson, MD, neurology.

— David Hardy, MD, vascular surgery.

— Kimberly Mackey, MD, neurosurgery.

The seminar will cover a range of topics related to stroke prevention, treatment, and support for survivors, caregivers, and family members. Participants will gain valuable insights into identifying stroke risk factors, recognizing the signs of a stroke, and understanding the latest advancements in stroke care.
