It's official – What We Do in the Shadows has been renewed and will be back for season five. But that's not all, fans were so bloodthirsty for more that it's been confirmed for season six, too.
"There's a lot of life left in our favourite vampires from Staten Island and FX couldn't be more thrilled to commit to two additional seasons of this phenomenal series," FX Entertainment president Nick Grad said in a statement in July 2022.
"What We Do in the Shadows excels on every level, from the brilliant cast and surprising guest stars to the producers, writers, directors and crew. We can't wait for everyone to enjoy season four, knowing that the next two are on the way."
To refresh your memory, the mockumentary series follows immortal housemates Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja and Colin as they navigate the modern world in Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo.
Season four's cliffhanger ending left fans with some burning questions for season five, so what can we expect from it and when can we expect it?

What We Do in the Shadows season 5 potential release date: When will it air?
It's been confirmed that season five of What We Do in the Shadows will premiere on FX on July 13, 2023. It will also air on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.
Harvey Guillén, who plays Guillermo, previously revealed via Instagram that filming for the new episodes wrapped in December 2022, writing: "That's officially a wrap on season 5 of [What We Do in the Shadows] we did it!
"Thanks to this amazing crew... the whole team... writers, costumes, hair and make-up, producers... it takes a village. I can't wait for y'all to see it!"
What We Do in the Shadows season 5 cast: Who's returning?
The main cast will all be returning for season five, which means Kayvan Novak will be back as Nandor, alongside Matt Berry as Laszlo, Harvey Guillén as Guillermo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, and Mark Proksch as Colin.
Expect to see plenty more celebrity cameos, too. Previous seasons have seen the likes of Star Wars legend Mark Hamill, Tilda Swinton, Nick Kroll and Benedict Wong, while Sofia Coppola, Thomas Mars and Jim Jarmusch made their vampy debuts in season four.
What We Do in the Shadows season 5 plot: What will happen?
Season four's finale saw Nandor once again delay Guillermo's ambitions to become a vampire. However, the familiar took matters into his own hands and struck up a deal with his buddy Derek to turn him in exchange for a suitcase full of embezzled money.
Season five is set to follow Guillermo's transformation, while Nandor, Lazlo and the others become increasingly suspicious.
The official synopsis for season five reads: "Nandor feels Guillermo slipping away as he seems to be spending much more time with Laszlo, whose skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test as he tries to solve the mystery of the strange and very secret changes Guillermo is going through.
"Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex, reconnects with her family — or at least, a family — from the Old Country, Colin pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him by running for political office and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in as the relative newcomer to this tightly-knit group."

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about Guillermo's "rash" decision to turn, executive producer Paul Simms said: "I think the biggest thing from the finale is Guillermo making such a rash and maybe ill-considered decision. That's obviously gonna have massive repercussions."
Going on to discuss his long-standing desire to become a creature of the night, he added: "It was the first in the first five minutes of the pilot. It was about Guillermo wanting to be a vampire. But a lot of this show is, if there's any consistent theme of this show, it's probably, 'Be careful what you wish for.'
"I mean, it was something that played out literally with Nandor this season, but it's an overarching team of the show. So, the Guillermo stuff is gonna be really funny."
Guillermo also visited his family in season four and, according to Simms, they'll reunite once again in season five.
"In season five, we have a really good episode where we’ll see Guillermo with his family again," he said, adding that they're "always expanding and opening" the world fans have been offered glimpses of season to season.
