Shamed Ex-Coronation Street Star Chris Fountain Lands Role in The Full Monty

Remember Chris Fountain? He had the televisual world at his feet, starring in both Hollyoaks and Corrie, before he was sacked from the cobbles for making some questionable Youtube videos.

Chris, 28, who played Tommy Duckworth in the ITV soap, was given his P45 back in 2014 after posting rap videos under the alias The Phantom.

The vids caused outrage due to their explicit lyrics about women and sexual violence.

Corrie bosses said at the time that they had no choice but to fire the actor.

Chris has kept a pretty low profile since then but now he’s back in the limelight after landing a role in the touring stage production of The Full Monty.

He’ll star alongside fellow former soap stars Gary Lucy, best known for Hollyoaks and EastEnders, and Louis Emerick of Brookside fame.

Chris took to Twitter to announce the news, saying he was: “Very happy” about joining the cast.

He’ll take to the stage when the tour kicks off in September.
