Life is feeling "unknown" for Shannen Doherty.

The actress reflected on her divorce and her cancer journey in the June 24 episode of her podcast, Let's Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, as she admitted that things have been "exhausting" for her lately.

"Obviously, divorce is not easy, especially when you really loved someone. And I did love my husband. And when you get so hurt by their actions that you just feel betrayed and like a sucker, it's really hard," she said, referring to the end of her 11-year marriage to Kurt Iswarienko.

At the same time, Doherty, 53, is "going through a lot of health stuff" as she begins a new round of chemotherapy.

"It becomes very real in an incredibly different way, because I have no idea how long I'm gonna be on the chemo for," she said of the treatment required for her stage 4 breast cancer, which she revealed to PEOPLE last year had spread to her bones. "I have no idea if it's gonna be 3 months or if it's gonna be 6 months or if we're gonna — if after 3 months, it's not working, if we're gonna change again."

"That's not something that I can predict. It's not something my doctors can predict. And it's scary," she admitted.

Her first round of chemotherapy was fast approaching when she recorded the episode, and she said she'd start it "probably a couple of days after this episode is out."

"To just be walking into the unknown — I just feel like my life has been unknown for over a year now, between divorce and cancer."

Reflecting on her separation from Iswarienko, Doherty said it's "not the most pleasant thing" as she admitted she may "never be ready to discuss the full details" of the breakdown of the relationship.

"There's so many different nuances that people will never understand," she shared, adding, "I don't understand why people find it so fascinating."

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum asked for "privacy" as she continues to navigate the separation and begins a new phase of her cancer journey. "I'm going through stuff. And when I wanna share it, I will share it."

In November 2023, when Doherty revealed her stage 4 breast cancer had spread to her bones — after it returned following two years of remission — she told PEOPLE she felt drawn to "look for the bigger purpose in life."

"I know it sounds cheesy and crazy, but you're just more aware of everything, and you feel so blessed," she said.

"My greatest memory is yet to come. I pray. I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking for too much."
