Shannen Doherty is selling off her possessions to make life "easier" for her mum when she dies.

The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actress, 52, is living with stage 4 cancer and she's started letting go of her furniture and her belongings just in case the worst happens because she's determined to make it an "easier transition" for Rosa.

During an episode of her 'Let’s Be Clear' podcast, Shannen explained: "My priority at the moment is my mom. I know it’s going to be hard on her if I pass away before her.

"Because it’s going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier. I don’t want her to have a bunch of stuff to deal with. I don’t want her to have four storage units filled with furniture."

Shannen admitted she struggled to let go of her home in Tennessee because she had been planning to renovate the property and turn it into a horse sanctuary, and she felt like she was "giving up" on her dream.

She said: "I was packing up and I started crying … I felt like I was giving up on a dream and what did that mean for me? Did it mean that I was giving up on life? Did it mean that I was throwing in the towel?"

Shannen later accepted selling off the property would bring her a sense of "peace" and she's now trying to make the most of life by using the money she's made from selling off her belongings to fund fun holidays for her and her mum.

She added: "It allows me to take more trips because I’m making money, I’m selling it, Then I get to build different memories and I build memories with the people that I love.

"I get to take my mom on vacations because I have all this extra play money lying around and I’m not digging into the money that’s in my estate that’s going to make sure that everybody in my life is taken care of once I’m dead."

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and underwent brain surgery and radiation therapy in January 2023. She told People in November the cancer had spread to her bones, leaving her with only “another three to five years of life”.
