CANCER Research UK Race for Life is coming to Tatton Park this weekend ready for two days full of fundraising and fun in the sun.

Tatton Park will host the events with participants aiming to complete 3km, 5km or 10km races or the obstacle-packed Pretty Muddy.

The Pretty Muddy Kids race and Pretty Muddy 5km race will be held today, Saturday, and the 3km, 5km and 10km events will take place tomorrow, Sunday.

If you’re getting ready to head to the park, we’d love to see a photo of you and your friends or family as you prepare to take to the starting line.

And then send us an after shot too, when you’ve completed the race and got yourself covered in mud!

Since it began in 1994, Race for Life has helped fund 30 years of cancer research in the UK, with Cancer Research UK raising millions of pounds every year.

Last year Race for Life raised £33 million to help continue cancer research work across the country, which goes towards developing radiotherapy and benefits more than 130,000 people with cancer every year.

Cancer Research UK events manager Richard Healey said: "With more than 2,400 people currently signed up to take part in Pretty Muddy alone at Tatton Park, this will result in a huge amount of money not going towards our important research."

Andy Curran, chief executive of Standard Life, said: “We are incredibly proud to continue as headline sponsor for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, with the opportunity to encourage participation across the country.

“By working to raise funds for life-saving research, we can move towards a future where people live longer and healthier lives, free from the fear of cancer.”
