Yahoo News Sharon Stone Signs With Independent Artist Group
EXCLUSIVE: Deadline has learned that Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actress Sharon Stone has inked with Independent Artist Group.
Stone rocketed to global stardom in Paul Verhoeven’s blockbuster feature Basic Instinct opposite Michael Douglas which minted $353M at the box office. Her marquee rose further in the role of Ginger McKenna, the wife to Robert De Niro’s casino boss Sam ‘Ace’ Rothstein in Martin Scorsese’s Casino, a turn which garnered her widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades including an Oscar nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role and a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress-Drama.

Among the notable projects Stone has recently starred in are Steven Soderbergh’s The Laundromat and Lena Waithe’s Beauty, both for Netflix, in addition to A24’s The Disaster Artist and Billy Crystal’s Here Today. Some of her early hits include Total Recall alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Luis Llosa’s The Specialist opposite Sylvester Stallone, Nick Cassavetes’ Alpha Dog, Broken Flowers for Jim Jarmusch, Peter Chelsom’s The Mighty and opposite writer/director Albert Brooks in The Muse, with the latter two earning Stone additional Golden Globe nominations. She also starred in and served as co-producer of Sam Raimi’s western The Quick and the Dead, opposite Gene Hackman and Leonardo DiCaprio. Stone’s first big screen splash was as the glamorous lady dressed to the nines in a neighboring train in Woody Allen’s black and white movie Stardust Memories.
In the series space, Sharon starred on Ryan Murphy’s Ratched for Netflix and Mosaic for HBO. She has had notable arcs on the critically acclaimed series The Flight Attendant (also for HBO), Showtime’s Huff and ABC’s The Practice which earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress In a Drama Series.
Stone has been awarded numerous honors based on her humanitarian work including the Golden Icon Award, the highest accolade at the Zurich Film Festival, with artistic director Christian Jungen stating, “She is a woman that Hitchcock would have loved. Her distinguishing qualities include an irresistible charm, a great human depth, the talent to play a whole range of roles and the ability to captivate an audience like no other.”
Among the long list of humanitarian work she has dedicated her life to, Stone served for 30 years as Chairwoman of amfAR’s Campaign for AIDS Research, was honored with a Nobel Peace Summit Award, a Harvard Humanitarian Award, a Human Rights Campaign Humanitarian Award and an Einstein Spirit Award.
In 2021, Stone’s memoir The Beauty of Living Twice was published and debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List.
