Sheffield United ready to 'cash in' on Coventry City favourite following relegation
Former Coventry City favourite Gustavo Hamer could be on the move just 12 months after signing for Sheffield United, who have been relegated from the Premier League.
The Brazilian-born Dutch midfielder was sold to the Blades for £15million last summer after making it clear he wanted to further his career elsewhere after the Sky Blues had failed to get promoted to the top flight in the Championship play-off final against Luton.
Although he had a year left on his contract at the CBS Arena, the 26-year-old indicated he wanted to leave and the club was forced to cash in. Hamer was initially signed for £1.5m from PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands, going on to play an impressive three seasons for City.

His current club are reported to be ready to get their money back on the player, with The Sun claiming United will listen to offers for Hamer and could sell him for around £15million. Journalist Alan Nixon reports that those in charge at Bramall Lane are ready to cash in on the Dutchman just 12 months after signing him.
Hamer proved a more than capable asset in the Premier League, with his 10 goal contributions - four goals and six assists - the most of anyone in the Blades squad. But manager Chris Wilder is planning a rebuild ahead of Championship football and could opt to sell the energetic midfielder in a bid to spread funds across multiple positions.
Mark Robins claimed last week that Hamer misses being at Coventry, jokingly pointing out that he has been back to the CBS Arena almost more than he's been at Bramall Lane this season.
