Sherri Shepherd calls out Sunny Hostin over reaction to thirsting over 'hot' son: 'Don't get brand new on me'

Sherri Shepherd calls out Sunny Hostin over reaction to thirsting over 'hot' son: 'Don't get brand new on me'

"Auntie Sherri's on the phone, and Auntie Sherri needs somebody to come move some stuff around her house," Shepherd said. "He can come clean the pool as well."

Former The View cohost Sherri Shepherd is turning up the heat on Sunny Hostin over the legal expert's reaction to Shepherd's admitted thirst for Hostin's "hot" 21-year-old son, Gabriel.

Shepherd, who was a panelist on the ABC series from 2007-2014, began her Sherri talk show Thursday by calling Hostin out after the ladies of The View mocked Shepherd's attraction to Hostin's son during Wednesday's live broadcast. The View segment was in response to Hostin appearing on the Sherri show last week — where Shepherd's initial bout with thirsting over Gabriel began.

"Alright, first of all, Sunny Hostin, you were the one who brought the pictures of Gabriel to me," Shepherd, 57, told her audience, responding to View star Alyssa Farah Griffin's suggestion during Wednesday's panel show that Shepherd selected shirtless photos of Gabriel to show when Hostin guested. "I didn't see the pictures of Gabriel before the show. Now, of course I would've approved them, but I didn't see the pictures before the show. You brought the pictures," Shepherd said.

She continued on her own show, "Sunny, you know when you come over here it's cougars all over. It is cougars lurking and waiting in their lair. You brought that boy over to me on a silver platter, Sunny. You knew it was trouble when you came. Who am I not to indulge, Sunny? Gabriel is the one who's got his shirt off and showing his pecs. He is old enough to vote. He's 21, he's old enough to drink. And, guess what? I'm thirsty."

The comedian and actress went on to jab Hostin for lowering her head to her hands on Wednesday, after moderator Whoopi Goldberg asked how Hostin would feel if Shepherd called Gabriel on the phone.

"Don't you be hiding your little face in your hands talking about 'Don't call him,' because you know what it makes me say? Somebody get Gabriel's phone number and tell Gabriel Auntie Sherri is on the phone, and Auntie Sherri needs somebody to come move some stuff around her house," Shepherd said while another shirtless photo of Gabriel appeared on a screen behind her. "After I've seen that picture, he can come clean the pool as well. I want him wearing what he wore right in those pictures. When he comes to clean my pool, I want him wearing this outfit right here."

Shepherd ended her statement by urging Hostin to correct her initial reaction.

"Sunny, don't get brand new on me," Shepherd finished. "You brought those pictures here and you know what you're doing. Sunny, what I gotta do? How many cows you want for Gabriel?"

On Wednesday's episode of The View, Hostin said she "didn't pick" the photos of Gabriel shown on the Sherri show, and that they were taken during a family vacation to Spain.

Elsewhere on the episode, Joy Behar, who cohosted The View with Shepherd for years, called her former colleague "out of her mind over" Hostin's son.

"What the heck was that about?" the 81-year-old quipped. "Alright, the kid's hot, but really?"

Shepherd has had an outwardly positive relationship with the show since departing its permanent panel in 2014, having made regular appearances as a guest over the years. Hostin and Behar also previously appeared on Sherri, with Hostin revealing in a May 2023 interview with Shepherd that the latter helped her fight for more pay when Hostin joined the show full-time in 2016.
