In Shipley, people have turned out s to vote for their next MP in this year's General Election.

A variety of political parties and a large number of candidates have stood across the Shipley area, as they attempt to become your representatives in Parliament. The votes are now being counted to determine the winners.

This year, the General Election marks the first since constituency boundaries were redrawn across the country. As a result, many people will find themselves in new constituencies with new MPs.

The results of the election are being counted up throughout the night of Thursday, July 4 into the morning of Friday, July 5, and most should be known by the morning. Some may take longer, but all should be known by the end of the day.
