Video footage has captured the shocking moment a man is knocked unconscious with one punch on the streets of Glasgow amid Celtic's title party.

Thousands of supporters flooded the city-centre today, Saturday, May 18, following Celtic's 3-2 victory over St Mirren in the final Scottish Premiership game of the season.

But a number of videos have since circulated online showing trouble in the Trongate area of the city as Hoops supporters flocked to the city centre.

Earlier in the day fans celebrated in a carnival atmosphere, with green smoke hanging in the air, as flags and banners were waved high.

Fans kicked a ball around and batted huge beach ball in the air as they celebrated Brendan Rodgers men claiming their third title in a row in jubilant scenes.

Supporters perched on top of traffic lights around Glasgow Cross and Trongate and many had their "taps aff" due to the heatwave.

One bus stop in Trongate had nine fans standing on the roof, while Glasgow City Council closed roads citing a "large gathering of football fans".

A topless supporter clutched a bottle of Mad-Dog 2020 as he perched on top of a traffic light, while an older fan held a flag reading "The Celts - a club open to all".

However, trouble soon began to erupt throughout the area.

Footage shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows one man being punched to the ground and seemingly knocked unconscious.

A crowd forms near a bus stop and a man in green can be seen punching twice at another man with his top off. The man falls backwards and lies spreadeagled as other rush around offer their assistance. Someone appears to put the man in the recovery position as the video ends.

The Record reported on litter and rubbish being left strewn across the streets as the army of fans made their way home earlier this evening.

A bystander explained how police had moved in to break up crowds as trouble started to flare up in the city centre.

Police Scotland promised earlier this week that they would do everything to 'minimise disruption in the community.'

Celtic asked that fans "celebrate positively", in a message posted on X: "As we enjoy once again lifting the Scottish Premiership title, we ask that supporters this weekend celebrate positively, safely and responsibly, mindful always that we enjoy these moments within the context of our wider community."

Glasgow City Council said they were waiting for corwds to disperse before they assessed the damage.
