Shocking moment dog Tasered after biting police officer near Wembley Stadium

A female police officer was taken to hospital on Friday after she was bitten by a dog while detaining a man near Wembley Stadium.

The shocking moment the dog was Tasered by Metropolitan Police officers was captured on camera.

The dog became aggressive towards other officers after biting the woman, the Met said. The dog’s owner has been arrested.

The incident unfolded at around 12pm on Friday on Wembley Way after the animal bit an officer, a witness told the Standard.

Rahman Zindere who filmed the incident said: “Police were chasing an individual who had his dog with him.

“The dog was a bit out of control and bit the officer on the leg, she then Tasered him.

“It was lunch time so a lot of people were around at that time.”

Footage of the incident shows the dog cowering away and whining after being Tasered by an officer.

Onlookers rushed to intervene and stepped in between the dog and other nearby police officers.

A man was seen pinned to the ground by officers nearby.

A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called to Engineers Way, Wembley following reports of a male with a dog who was in breach of an injunction preventing him from entering the location.

“Officers attended and the male was detained. Whilst detained the male’s dog bit an officer and became aggressive towards other officers and a Taser was discharged.

“The injured officer was taken to hospital. She has been discharged after treatment.

“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault, breach of injunction and having a dangerous dog out of control. He was taken into custody, where he remains.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the dog. No other injuries were reported.”
