Shocking Moment Suspect Clings to Moving Car While Fleeing Police in California

Police in California have released dashcam footage of the shocking moment a domestic violence suspect jumped onto a moving car and clung to it on a highway, as he tried to evade cops during a chase.

In video released by the Lathrop Police Department, officers are seen responding to a domestic violence call involving suspect Juan Valdez.

Valdez is seen taking off in a car from the scene, leading officers on a chase.

During the chase, Valdez’s car tire blows out on the highway, leading him to try to carjack another vehicle by jumping onto it, and ending with him getting shot by an officer.

The suspect was treated in hospital before being sent to jail. He was charged with a number of felonies, including carjacking, false imprisonment, evasion, and resisting arrest, police said. Credit: Lathrop Police Department via Storyful
