Si King has declared that the Hairy Bikers will cease to exist without his partner Dave Myers, who tragically lost his battle with cancer in February this year. In a heartfelt tribute to his best friend and TV co-star, Si stated that while there will be a future, it won't involve the Hairy Bikers.

In an interview with The Observer, the first newspaper to feature the Hairy Bikers back in 2006, Si said: "There is no Hairy Bikers without Dave. Because it's plural."

Si revealed that there will be future projects, although he's unsure of what they'll be, adding: "It can't be the Hairy Bikers 2.0. That's not going to happen. It wouldn't be respectful. It's definitely a time of change and change comes at a cost and that cost has been my best friend."

Reflecting on Dave's fight against cancer, Si said: "It was all about the fight right to the very last day. " Si added: "The reality was he just didn't want to go, reports Bristol Live. "It was too soon. It's a cruel disease."

Looking ahead, Si said: "It's only in the past couple of weeks that I've started to think about what I want to do. " He added: "I don't think as a creative person you ever stop being creative. How can you retire from yourself? Do I want to do more books? Yes, I do. Do I want to make more programmes? Yes, I do."

Si concluded: "It would be incredibly churlish not to say thank you to our fanbase. I sincerely hope that whatever I do next they come with me and we start another journey together."

One week ago, Si King faced an audience alone for the first time to cook live at an event, following the passing of his Hairy Bikers co-star. The duo, famed for their cooking and travel shows where they explored on motorcycles, had been partners for nearly 20 years.

Myers succumbed to cancer in February at the age of 66. At the Good Food Show Summer at Birmingham's NEC, Si performed culinary demonstrations before a large audience, alongside Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo, TV host Chris Bavin, and author of 'Easy' cookbook, Chris Baber.

Earlier in the month, King participated in a memorial motorcycle ride to honour Myers, with proceeds going to the Institute of Cancer Research, London, and the children's charity NSPCC. Upon announcing Myers' death, the 57 year old expressed his sorrow, stating: "My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow.

"I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime. I wish you God's speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya."
