Signs confirm opening date for Stockton's new Starbucks drive-thru - and there's just days to go
An opening date for Stockton's new Starbucks drive-thru has been revealed.
A new banner has been put up outside the chain's new site in Preston Farm, off Yarm Road, confirming that coffee lovers will finally be able to grab their caffeine fix from the new location on Friday, April 26, at 6am. It follows months of construction works at the site - with the famous green Starbucks logos recently being erected around the sleek new unit.
It appears as though work is still ongoing on the interior, with some of the windows covered up by boards. The upcoming coffee spot is located in a section of the car park formerly belonging to TruGym, which closed last year but will soon become a JD Gyms.

As previously reported, Total Planning Solutions initially said the site was hoping to welcome customers last year. Construction works - undertaken by Teesside-based firm Tekbuild - began around September last year with a Starbucks spokesperson previously saying it "looked forward to bringing the Starbucks Experience to customers in Stockton in the near future."
Starbucks currently has several locations across Stockton, including at the former Mile House pub, on Portrack Lane, and on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough. Plans were first approved for the Yarm Road drive-thru in January last year - and there are now just a matter of days until the new location opens.
A Starbucks spokesperson said: "We can confirm the Starbucks store at Stockton, Yarm Road will open on Friday April 26, creating 16 jobs for the local community. Opening hours will be 6:00am-9:00pm Monday-Sunday. To celebrate, the store will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust at 10.00am on Friday, April 26.”"
Meanwhile, scaffolding remains around the former TruGym unit as works continue on the "world-class" JDGyms location, which is set to open this summer. The firm recently issued several pictures of some of its other UK locations so gym-goers can get a feel for what to expect in Stockton. The 18,000 sq ft fitness facility will be open 24/7 after it launches.
