Tonight (January 14) saw the start of Silent Witness season 22's second story, 'Lift Up Your Hearts', which focused on the issue of drugs in a London community.

The episode kicked off with an explosion in a meth lab, while also following a drug addict on the streets, a group of kids in school and a headmaster played by Colin Salmon (who was in the show's very first episode).

As the team examined the evidence from the explosion, Clarissa (the iconic Liz Carr) gave us a rundown on how to make meth, and now viewers are wanting a Breaking Bad-style spin-off. May we recommend 'Drugs: Clarissa Explains It All'? Copyright us.

Tonight's episode also featured guest star Samantha Womack (of Eurovision and EastEnders fame) as a married policewoman with her eyes on Jack (David Caves).

While fans were glad to see the actress on our screens again, they wanted 'DI Ronnie' to stay away.

Viewers also praised the episode for raising awareness about the dangers of the 'zombie' drug called Spice, which has been at the centre of headlines recently:

The episode ended with Headmaster Colin Salmon's daughter passing out outside a club, while two of the drug dealers seen earlier in the episode walked away. As her family joined her in hospital, she sadly passed away.

Silent Witness continues tomorrow night at 9pm, as the Headmaster's crusade gets personal and Jack is attacked...
