He's the media mogul and music maestro behind some of the UK's biggest ever stars, but the same question sweeps social media whenever Simon Cowell is on TV: has Simon Cowell had a facelift?

The judge of Britain's Got Talent and talent show supremo behind Pop Idol, The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent has been a mainstay of judges' panels for over 20 years now.

And in that time, Simon has become a household name for his brutal honesty on the panel as well as his ability to pick future stars, especially in the music industry for his record label which has launched the likes of Leona Lewis to stardom.

But one thing that always comes up when Simon Cowell appears on TV - fans often comment on his appearance.

Simon Cowell has, though, previously insisted he didn't get a facelift after Ant and Dec made a funny comment about his face. Simon Cowell laughed when he talked to Mirror online about it.

Ant and Dec made everyone laugh at a Britain's Got Talent event when they joked about how Simon looks.

Declan Donnelly said to the people there: "We have a new face joining the judging panel."

Then Ant made a joke too, saying: "What? Simon has a new face?"

But Simon Cowell didn't get upset. He said he finds it very funny that people think he's had big surgery.

He told them: "I think it's hysterical. I mean, it just makes me laugh. I haven't had a facelift or anything. I've had a bit of Botox or whatever, but nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff, honestly it does make me laugh."

Last year, Simon Cowell shared that he is his own biggest critic and promised to stop using Botox.

He said to The Sun: "There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from 'before' the other day, and didn't recognise it as me first of all."

"Eric [his son] was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero."

While he hasn't confirmed having surgery, he mentioned back in 2008 that getting Botox was just like brushing teeth for him.

Simon told Glamour: "To me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste. It works, you do it once a year who cares?"
