Simon Jordan tells Rangers they must prove HIM wrong as 'fed up' Philippe Clement thrown ultimate Celtic challenge

Bullish Simon Jordan has declared that Rangers must now prove him WRONG and "lay a glove" on Celtic to claim the title.

And the outspoken pundit reckons that Philippe Clement looked 'fed up" at the final whistle during his post-match debrief after the Light Blues handed the advantage in the Scottish Premiership race to the defending champions. It means that Rangers will have to go into the final derby showdown of the campaign at Celtic Park knowing a win will be crucial to taking the trophy to the blue half of Glasgow this summer.

Since returning to the top flight back in 2016, Rangers' only league wins at Celtic Park have come under Steven Gerrard. Once in the Covid-abridged 2019/20 season and once on their way to romping to the title in 2020/21 - a stat which Jordan previously pointed out to Ibrox icon Graeme Souness on talkSPORT.

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan said: “I listened to him [Philippe Clement] and saw a little bit of the game. I listened to his speech afterwards where he’s thoroughly fed up.

"You saw him turn on his heel after the result, walk straight down the tunnel and he didn’t pull any punches about what he thought about the performance. It’s disappointing you want the jeopardy of the real stuff. Now Rangers have got to do what I accused them of being unable to do last week with [Graeme] Souness and that’s lay a glove on Celtic.

“Are they going to win this league now? They can’t win this league by not beating Celtic. Now they’ve got to go to Celtic Park and they’ve got to beat them to win the league and win their game in hand.”
