On Thursday evening, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that bans any transactions between the parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, and U.S. citizens due to national security reasons. The president signed a separate executive order banning transactions with China-based tech company Tencent, which owns the app WeChat. Both orders are set to take effect in 45 days. A social media star has revealed the secret hack that will let you watch all the TikTok videos you want while travelling on a flight. While some airlines offer WiFi services, most of the time accessing your phone won’t be possible.

Megan Homme, based in Chicago, unveiled her hack in a recent TikTok video. In a video from March, Megan revealed she learned about the tip before she jetted off on a flight.

She captioned her video: “POV: you just learned how to watch TikToks on a flight without WiFi.” Megan then showed off the complete process.

On your own profile page click the three lines in the top right hand corner. From there click the ‘Settings and privacy’ option.

Once in the ‘Settings and privacy tab’, scroll down to the ‘Cache & Cellular’ section. There you’ll find the ‘Offline videos’ option.

Here, you’ll be able to download videos to watch offline. There’s options to download between 50, 100, 150 and 200 videos (approximately between 30 minutes and 120 minutes worth of watch time).

The videos will then be stored in the ‘offline’ section of your settings, meaning you can access them from there. Megan downloaded hers while on ‘Airplane mode’, but you will be able to do the same while on WiFi or using Mobile data.

However, you’ll only be able to download the videos and not the comments section. So you won’t be able to comment on any of the videos you watch.

The videos will be refreshed with new content when you’re next connected to WiFi. Megan’s video has been viewed over a massive 21.7 million times, receiving 1.6 million likes and 4,800 comments.

Caffeinatedbaddie replied, “I need more like 20,000,” while JedaiiXander said, “I watch 200 videos in the bathroom before leaving for work.” Dizzle wrote: “That will only last me until the plane finishes boarding.”
