When you're cleaning the bathroom, it's important to get each and every spot as sparkling clean as you can. This includes the taps, but these can be a real nightmare to deal with.

No matter how often you give them a wipe down, it's not long before they are covered in splash marks once again. Certain cleaning products are excellent at removing the marks - but taking one extra step could prevent them from appearing altogether.

That's according to one mum and lifestyle influencer on social media, who has shared the helpful tip for anyone looking for more effective ways to clean their bathroom.

Posting on TikTok to a follower base of more than one million people, @anna_louisa_at_home made a video recently detailing a few simple yet effective bathroom cleaning hacks that you may never have heard of before.

And one of these is a preventative measure to stop your bathroom taps from becoming plagued with water marks.

According to Anna, all you need to do is buff in some candle wax to your tap and the water will end up 'running straight off it' rather than clinging on and leaving marks.

You can do this by grabbing any candle you have lying around - preferably a soy wax one that isn't in a jar - and rubbing the waxy surface on to the tap before giving it a good buff with a cloth.

Another tip Anna suggested for making cleaning the bathroom easier, was to buff shaving foam into your mirror. This is said to stop it from fogging up after a hot shower or bath, meaning no irritating fingertips to wipe off afterwards.

And if you want your bathroom to smell fresh as a daisy in between cleans, simply pop a few drops of your favourite essential oil on to some cotton wool balls and place them in the bottom of your bin.

In the comments, people were blown away by Anna's hacks, with many saying how eager they were to try the candle wax one.

One person said: "I need to try the wax," to which Anna replied: "It works so well."

Another wrote: "Wowww. Running to try these tips!" said another.

A fourth commented: "The candle wax is gold!" while a fifth said: "Doing all of these right now."
