Simu Liu Reveals He's on Crutches After Tearing His Achilles Tendon
"Thanks for the ultimate friends sports weekend, I miss walking, but I miss you all more!" Liu wrote on Instagram.
Simu Liu's friends weekend was crashed by a pair of crutches.
On Monday, the Barbie star revealed in an Instagram post that he tore his Achilles tendon and is currently using crutches. While Liu didn't say how the injury happened, he shared a series of photos from a recent trip with his friends revealing how he's been coping since his mishap.
In one of the photos Liu posted he's kneeling on a boat surrounded by his pals and girlfriend Allison Hsu. In another photo, the actor is on the crutches in a group photo with his friends, all of whom are wearing jerseys. The last photo in the series shows Liu holding up his foot, which is in a black boot.
"Achilles tears aren’t so bad when you’ve got twenty of your best friends to carry you around," Liu, 34, captioned his post. "Thanks for the ultimate friends sports weekend, I miss walking but I miss you all more!"

"I think I've always had a bit of an aspiration for it," Liu told PEOPLE in April about his Broadway dreams. "I grew up with a real reverence for theater. I was able to do it a few times in Canada."
"There's more agency [on the stage] as an artist than kind of showing up to set and then having an editor and director go off into a room and crop the story based on what you do," he added. "So, that will always be really interesting to me."
