'Singing is not for her': Mutya Buena lays into vocal abilities of Kylie and J-Lo
Sugababes member Mutya Buena has launched a scathing attack on stars including Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Scherzinger, claiming they can’t sing.
Buena, a founding member Sugababes which has seen a number of line-up changes, held nothing back in her rant about what she sees as the lack of talent in some of the music industry’s biggest names.

Laying into Kylie Minogue on Instagram Live, she said: “I don’t think she’s a singer - she’s a great entertainer, she’s amazing at what she does, but singing is not for her.
“If you gave me a Kylie Minogue song, except for Especially For You, what other song does she have? Can’t Get You Out Of My Head? You can sing that drunk and so can I.
“I don’t think I’ve ever bought a Kylie Minogue track in my life and I don’t think I ever would.”

Moving on to Jennifer Lopez, she said: “J-Lo, you can just shake your a*** crack. Let’s be honest, J-Lo, she can’t sing.
“I’m not being rude. She’s an amazing performer, sexy as hell and looks great. But I’m not going to tell you J-Lo can sing. I’d be lying to you.”
Even Lady Gaga didn’t escape Buena’s ruthless critique, although she at least admitted the star could sing.
She said: “She’s not my cup of tea, to be honest. She goes along with the rest of them. She can hit a note, yes, but not for me.
“She should be in a group with J-Lo and them lot. I can’t tell you they’re great singers.”
Buena also said of Nicole Scherzinger “I don’t look at her as a singer” and said that Ellie Goulding’s voice was ok but “it kind of irritates me”.
Madonna, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Cheryl’s vocal talents were also picked apart by Buena in the chat, but she said she refused to be careful in her opinions just because she was in the same industry.
She said: “If you can’t sing, you can’t sing. I don’t go around saying I’m the best singer but I know I can sing.”
“But there’s nothing wrong with using your body to compensate for something you don’t have,” she added.
