Sir Keir Starmer's wife's NHS job and food rule for their children

Incoming prime minister Sir Keir Starmer has been married to "sassy" wife Victoria since 2007.

While they are both set to move to Downing Street, their current abode is a £1.75m townhouse in Camden, where they live with their two teenage children. Victoria is thought to have originally trained in law, before moving to the NHS where she works in occupational health.

Speaking about the prospect of moving into 11 Downing Street, Victoria previously told The Times: "If it happens, I won’t want to leave Kentish Town."

Keir met Victoria when she was a lawyer who had drawn up some documents for him. The incoming prime minister previously told Piers Morgan's Life Stories: "I said 'let's get her on the line' and just before ending the call I heard her mutter 'who the **** does he think he is?'"

Sir Keir later told Vogue he fondly recalls their first encounter and added: "You might think, ‘Not the best of starts,’ but it was absolutely classic Vic.

"Very sassy, very down to earth, no nonsense from anyone, including from me."

Victoria is a vegetarian, as is Sir Keir, though he admits he now eats fish. They are said to have raised their children on meat-free diets, but to have given both the choice to begin to eat meat when they turned "about 10".

He previously told the Table Manners podcast: "Until they're about 10 obviously they're just eating with us. So, we never did and at the age of 10 we said you can do what you like, and our boy said 'great'.

"The moment we go out there's a Deliveroo for Kentucky Fried Chicken or McDonald's, so he's taken full liberty with the licence to do what he likes."
