'Sit Back, Relax, and Enjoy': Astronaut Records City Lights as He Soars From Vietnam to Japan

An astronaut recorded dazzling footage of city lights glinting in the night, as the International Space Station (ISS) was flying over Asia.

Footage by astronaut Matthew Dominick shows “an atmospheric glow” crowning Earth’s horizon between Vietnam and Japan, while “intermittent flashes of lightning strike within the clouds.”

It was posted on Facebook by the ISS, who encouraged viewers to “sit back, relax and enjoy”, and commented that their “vantage point” not only offers spectacular views, but also paints “a unique picture of how life and other phenomena shape our home planet.” Credit: International Space Station via Storyful
