As it stands, Hull FC still have five senior players out of contract at the end of the season, with four more academy promotions still to be determined. Here they are in full.

Danny Houghton
The Hull FC veteran told Hull Live last autumn that the 2024 season would likely be his last, and that looks like being the case. The 35-year-old is expected to hang the boots up at the end of the year, with his place as a club legend already confirmed.

Houghton sits fourth on Hull's all-time appearance list, having played 448 games for the club to date. He also won the Super League Man of Steel award in 2016 and was a Challenge Cup winner in both 2016 and 2017.

Carlos Tuimavave
Hull FC's third longest serving player, Tuimavave has been at the club since 2016, with this campaign being the first time he has gone into a new season out of contract at the end of the year. He returned to the side a fortnight ago after over three months out injured with a torn hamstring. The 32-year-old has since rolled back the years, producing two strong performances against Leeds and Warrington. However, a final decision is still to be made.

Joe Cator
Currently out with a back injury, the extent of which is to be determined, Cator has found life tough this year. Luckily, he's made of stern stuff, with a hamstring issue also keeping him out at the start of the season. His future is yet to be resolved, with a couple of clubs thought to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Mitieli Vulikijapani
The Fijain outside back hasn't played since Good Friday last year, with the player going through a full knee reconstruction process. A serving soldier in the British Army, he is now in the latter stages of that recovery, but a new deal seems unlikely.

Charlie Severs
The young back rower is currently out with another shoulder injury, the severity of which is still unknown. He signed a two-year deal back in 2022, but his future now will probably depend on the outcome of his latest setback. It's been a tough ride, and he deserves some luck now, with the 21-year-old playing six times on loan at York Knights in the Championship.

Academy promotions
As per the RFL's out of contract list, the club are still to make calls on four of their academy promotions for 2024, with Lennon Bursell, Mackenzie Harman, Jeylan Hodgson, and Sully Medforth seemingly signing one-year deals. Bursell and Harman are currently out on loan at Newcastle Thunder, while Medforth has a broken collar bone. Hodgson has played for the reserves all season.
