Six teens arrested after Dothan gun, drug raids

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Six teenagers in Dothan have been arrested in connection with several shooting investigations, Dothan Police announced Thursday.

On Thursday, the Dothan Police Department Gun Unit and the Criminal Investigation Division executed two search warrants, one on Hutchins Street and the other on Lingo Street.

Dothan Police spokesperson Lt. Scott Owens told WDHN the raids were part of an investigation into shootings around Dothan. The investigation was not into one particular shooting but several that have occurred.

According to Lt. Owens, during the raids, six teenagers under the age of 16 were arrested, and officers seized marijuana, five handguns, and one AR-15-style rifle.

Due to the suspect’s age, their identities are not being released, but they are charged with certain persons forbidden to carry firearms, burglary in the third degree, receiving stolen property in the second degree (stolen firearms), and possession of marijuana.
