Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas welcome baby boy

Lucy Mecklenburgh has joked that sleep is already hard to come by after welcoming a baby boy with her fiancé Ryan Thomas.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star announced on Thursday that she had given birth to a baby boy.

Sharing the first snap of the couple’s new arrival on Instagram, she revealed that they had named him Roman Ravello Thomas.

Hours later, the star shared a funny GIF on her Instagram Story, showing a character asking: “Sleep?

“What’s that?”

Mecklenburgh, 28, and former Coronation Street star Thomas, 35, revealed late last year that they were having a baby boy.

The couple, who got together in 2017 after meeting on Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls, shared the news with fans in a video on Instagram.

In the clip, Mecklenburgh found out the gender of their unborn baby first then turned to Thomas and told him: “It’s a boy.”

The pair have been inundated with good wishes following the arrival of Roman.

“Super mumma,” posted Loose Women star Stacey Solomon on Instagram, while actress Helen Flanagan wrote: “Congratulations darling.”

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon wrote: “Aw, so nice to hear some good news... congratulations guys!”

Fellow The Only Way Is Essex star Sam Faiers joked: “I thought you had gone a bit quiet.”

She added: “Huge congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby boy lots of love. Xxxx.”
