Slip and slides in Cornwall return including the longest of its kind in the UK

The weather might be up and down since the very welcome sunshine last week, but at least we've got some epic slip and slides to experience if the heat continued - and whenever it makes an appearance.

In a county that's home to not one, but four epic slip and slides that make for a hilarious and very fun day out for all the family - one of the Cornwall-based sites is already taking bookings for the season.

Cornwall Slip and Slide at Atlantic Reach Resort, near Newquay, is open for business as of this weekend just gone. Sharing the exciting news to Facebook it said the team "is ready and raring to go" at the 350ft slides.

At an even bigger 440ft, nearby family-run business Giant Slip and Slide says it is the UK's longest of its kind and will open from May half term later this month. Located near Winnards Perch, but originally located near Polzeath, it was the original slip and slide for Cornwall and has been going since 2017.

For 2024 it will have four lanes and an epic water pistol battle park is also back for its second season. "Our slide is 440ft long with a three metre high launch ramp, we provide inflatable hoops, rings and super fast bodyboards for you to enjoy," the business says.

A third site, called Mega Slip and Slide, is located at Blackwater near Truro and is not taking bookings until July on its website currently. It states: "New for 2024! Immerse yourself in a 90-minute exploration of our spectacular Maize Maze - fun for all ages and abilities, with towering maize reaching up to 8ft high! Make sure to visit our viewing tower in the maze's heart, where you can claim your complimentary Callestick ice cream."

Meanwhile, in Bude, Monster Slip and Slide also has a similar 'Monster Maze' for this year. The website reads: "Our Monster Slip And Slide is based just four minutes from the stunning beaches of Widemouth Bay, Bude. Use our free super-fast bodyboards and inflatable rings to launch yourself off our Monster ramp and get yourself flying down the 360ft long, Monster of a slide! Kids age four and under even slide for free!"
